Battle of Gog and Magog

Ezekiel 38 and 39 are two of the most exciting, provocative chapters in the Bible.   They tell of a great war to come.  

The players in this coming battle are easy to identify.

The invading Muslim armies are all allied, and in place today even as we speak.   Using ancient geographical maps we can place their locations in the past.  Or, another way of identifying them is through their people groups and their migrations.  There may be slight variations but these 2 methods come to basically the same evil forces.  Who are they?  Ezekiel 38:1-6: 1) Magog: Southern steppes of Russia; 2) Rosh: Russia; 3) Meshech and Tubal: Turkey, Turkmenestan; 4) Persia: Iran; 5) Ethiopia: Sudan, Somalia; 6) Libya: Libya, may include Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia; 7) Gomer: North-central Turkey; 8) Togarmah: Eastern Turkey.

One thing we know for sure, it is a Muslim coalition with  Russian arms.  This is the exact alliance we see in our world today, right now.  Russia is arming the Mideast, and Iran is getting the bomb. We can be sure that in the latter days this great and mighty army will invade Israel.  Why?  So they can take wealth Ezekiel tells us.  Saudi Arabia and Yemen area don't try to stop them, they stand on the sidelines as does the entire world. 

What happens in this great battle?

 They march in to take spoil, and don't get out alive. Their flesh will be eaten by the birds. (Ez. 39:4, Rev. 19, 17,18,21 )  A world wide great earthquake shakes the mountains and islands.  All the walls of all the cities on earth fall to the ground. (Ez. 38:20, Rev. 16:18-20) The coastlands and many nations are burned with fire.  Hailstones come down upon them from God. (Rev.16;21, Ez.38:22)  Fire consumes them.  Then, the Name of the God if Israel is glorified in The Day Yeshua fights for His people.  (Ez. 39:6,7)  Even so, Come Lord Jesus.

The timing is a subject of intense scrutiny.  After 20 years of considering all the possibilities including:  1) Pre-rapture;              2) Immediate post rapture;  3) and Armageddon, I have come to the conclusion that God and Magog can only happen at the end of this age, at the end of the tribulation.   So, this battle and Armageddon are the same.  They share the same characteristics that the climatic battle when Jesus returns shares.  This can happen no other time on earth.

 After this battle a great a glorious thing will happen.  Yeshua Himself will restore this war consumed, sin sick earth and rule and reign from Jerusalem for 1,000 years of peace and beauty and prosperity.  Jesus is wonderful.  I can hardly wait!
